JTPLteen Discord

JTPL is excited to offer a virtual hangout space–just for teens–on Discord. We have a new server called JTPLteen and it is an online space great for teens to chat with their peers and our librarians, to hang out, and to keep up with teen programming offered at the library.

Teenagers in grades 6-12 are welcome to join but must have a valid Jeffersonville Township Public Library card (go here if you need one) and fill out this FORM to receive the server invitation. If you do not already have a Discord account, you will need to create one in order to use the server–though you do not need it to fill out the form.

About Discord

Discord is a free app that allows users to communicate via text, voice, or video in real time. It is available as a mobile app, a PC program, or through any web browser. It has primarily been used and known as an app for video gaming but has quickly become a social media hangout.

We are using Discord as a well-moderated virtual hangout for teens and as a form of communication about teen specific resources at the library. The server may be public but it is constantly monitored by our librarians and has safety measures in place to ensure the server is always as safe as possible.
