Temporary Construction Hours for Jeffersonville

The Jeffersonville Library is under the following temporary hours to accommodate its construction schedule:

Mondays — Tuesdays CLOSED
Wednesdays 9:00 a.m. — 8:00 p.m.
Thursdays 9:00 a.m. — 8:00 p.m.
Fridays 9:00 a.m. — 5:30 p.m.
Saturdays 9:00 a.m. — 5:00 p.m.
Sundays CLOSED

Please note that this schedule ONLY applies to the Jeffersonville location and is only for the duration of the renovation project. The Clarksville Branch location will still be open its full normal schedule.

We apologize for the temporary inconvenience, but we are very excited to lead the library into the future with our envisioned improvements. These include a new Makerspace and recording studio, a new meeting room, two study rooms, a new service desk with roaming staff, self-check technology with RFID tags, and a new family restroom on the first floor. Of course, there are countless smaller improvements we plan to make along the way. You can read about all of the planned improvements on our Renovations page.

Everyone says they want to support their local library, like they support using reusable water bottles, no cell phones at the dinner table, and the quiet car on trains.

But do they really? Folks tend to think of libraries in the abstract. It’s less a physical space and more of a concept, a powerful good in the universe that everyone believes in unconditionally, like Santa Claus or Beyonce.

So how do you support your library? Leave a nice comment on their blog? An appreciative Facebook post? A well-timed tweet about them that gets a zillion retweets?
