
Our Sewing area spans 2 large tables with plenty of space to spread out patterns and fabric.

The Sewing Station features the following equipment:

- Singer 44S Heavy Duty sewing machine [instruction manual]
- Kenmore 10 sewing machine (model 385.12490) [instructions]
- Baby Lock “Enlighten” serger [instruction & referenche guide; quick reference threading guide]
- Iron and ironing board
What You’ll Need
You must be a JTPL library cardholder in good standing to use any makerspace equipment.
You need to bring your own fabric, thread, bobbins, and notions for any projects. The library has some self healing cutting mats, rotary cutters, and miscellaneous tools for use.
Cost
Use of the Sewing station is free! However, the library has bobbins available to purchase for $0.10 each if you would like to have a pre-wound bobbin with black or white thread.

Upcoming Classes
Sewing classes are currently taught in 4-week sessions by a Makerspace volunteer. They fill up quickly so be sure to register fast! You can also see a monthly view of these classes on our online calendar.
- You are permitted one two-hour session per day.
Extra time may be granted (at the discretion of staff) if no one is waiting; however, this courtesy cannot be guaranteed. - Projects are stopped at closing.
- You have a 15-minute grace period before your reservation is automatically cancelled.
- We strongly encourage you to book ahead of your visit to ensure availability.
