Can you design our new library cards?

This summer, JTPL is hosting a Library Card Design Contest and we want YOU to participate! We’re inviting all youth ages 6 – 17 to create a new library card design for JTPL that will be used as special limited edition library cards and more. Scroll down to learn all the details and get started on your own design!

Who can enter?

There are 2 groups: youth ages 6-11 and youth ages 12-17.

What are the rules?

  • Entries must be accompanied by a complete, official entry form. You can download one here or pick one up from the Jeffersonville or Clarksville library.
  • Your design must be completed using the official template.
  • All artwork in your design must be original, previously unpublished, and free of copyright restrictions.
  • The basic card dimension is 3 1/4 x 2 inches. Both horizontal and vertical designs will be considered. Artwork needs to be two-dimensional for printing purposes.
  • The selected design (s) will have the Jeffersonville Township Public Library wording added to it. Please keep this in mind as you create your design.
  • Artwork that is found offensive or not appropriate for the contest will not be considered.
  • If artwork does not meet the previous guidelines, it will not be considered, no exceptions.

How do I enter?

You can submit your designs in person to the Youth Services Department Desk at Jeffersonville or the Public Services Desk at the Clarksville Library. Electronic submissions will not be accepted.

The deadline for design entries is Monday, July 15th at 7:30 p.m. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Winners will be selected and notified by Wednesday, July 24.

How will these designs be used?

The winning designs will be used as special limited edition library cards and also be used on library card promotional materials, including posters, bags, bookmarks, forms and fliers and the library’s website. All rights to the artwork will belong to the Jeffersonville Township Public Library. Winning artwork may need to be modified to comply with Jeffersonville Township Public Library branding guidelines.
