FAQ

How can I get started?

Fill out a volunteer application [click here to download one now] and email it to bdaily@jefflibrary.org. You have the option to pick up a paper copy of the Volunteer Application at the Clarksville or Jeffersonville locations. Once we receive your application, the volunteer coordinator will schedule a meet and greet which includes a tour.

How often can I volunteer?

We are flexible, and the volunteer coordinator will work with you on a schedule that works for you and the library. Typically, an ideal shift for a volunteer is 1-3 hours. If you need longer shifts, we will try to accommodate. Typically 1-2 days a week will work best for us. Again, if you need or want more days, we will try to accommodate.

What are the volunteer tasks?

It depends. While JTPL tries to place volunteers where their interests and skills will be best suited, your placement also depends on which departments have the greatest need. Always feel free to check in with the volunteer coordinator on what is needed to see if something piques your interest. Almost all volunteering tasks require dexterity, attention to detail, and reliability.
