We had over 320 people read over 1,500 books in the Adult Summer Reading Club this year and gave away 17 prizes, but in the end there could only be two Grand Prize winners:
Margaret Fox, winner of the $300 Visa gift card grand prize in the 2016 Summer Reading Club
Kim Shoemaker, winner of the $200 Visa gift card grand prize in the 2016 Summer Reading Club
Congratulations to Margaret Fox and Kim Shoemaker! And thank you everyone who participated this year!
Mike Harmless presents a copy of Donald Davidson’s Autocourse Official Illustrated History of the Indianapolis 500 to Becky Kelien (left) and Libby Pollard (right).
The Jeffersonville Township Public Library is one of 40 libraries in Indiana that has been selected by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to receive a free autographed copy of Donald Davidson’s Autocourse Official Illustrated History of the Indianapolis 500, second edition. A special presentation was made on Wednesday, May 4 by Mike Harmless, Chair of Statewide Engagement at 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 Host Committee, to Becky Kelien, Reference and Adult Services Manager and Libby Pollard, Library Director.
The Library is planning a special program for later this summer with Mr. Davidson, the official historian of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. For questions, please contact the Reference Desk at the Library at (812) 285-5635.
Did you know our library was featured in an article about this year’s Indiana State Parks pass library checkout program? Programming Librarian, a publication of the American Library Association (ALA), spoke with Libby Pollard, our director, and Kimberly Jackson, our Circulation and Outreach Services Librarian about how the project has gone so far at our library. According to Libby, there are already 39 holds on the passes!
The Jeffersonville Township Public Library is proud to host the “Remembering Our Fallen” photo exhibit at the Main Library from January 23 – February 1, 2016.
This touring photo exhibit honors Indiana military who have died from wounds suffered in a war zone since September 11, 2001. This exhibit is on loan from the Easter Seals Crossroads until February 1, 2016.
Did you know that 2016 is not just the state Bicentennial, it’s also the Centennial of Indiana’s State Parks system? To celebrate both events, the Indiana State Library and Indiana State Parks have provided us with a free park pass to circulate to our patrons!
We’re fortunate to have the Falls of the Ohio State Park and Charlestown State Park right in our backyard, but there are lots of other parks around the state to explore. Don’t forget to share your state park adventures with us on social media and at the library!
