Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is the process that we use to borrow materials from another library for our patrons, or when another library borrows material from the Jeffersonville Library for their patrons. We send out a request that a patron gives us, and the lending library sends us the material. Patrons may request items using the Google link below, by phone, or in person.

  • Items that may be borrowed are books, large print books, audiobooks on CD, music CDs, and DVDs.
  • Items must be at least 6 months after publication date to be requested.
  • There is a limit of 3 requests per patron at one time.
  • ILL items check out for two (2) weeks, and are not renewable.
  • Patrons must have a valid library card and be in good standing (no fines or overdues).
  • Patrons must provide contact information so that we can notify you when the item arrives.
  • It will take approximately two to four weeks for items to arrive after we order them. We cannot guarantee that an item will arrive by a certain date, but we will notify you as soon as the item arrives and is processed.
  • Very late or unreturned items will result in loss of library privileges, including charges for replacement of the item and any overdue fees that the lending library may charge.
  • If items are not picked up with 10 days of notification, they will be returned to the lending library.
